According to Microsoft 's Phil Spencer, the company had to make once in conversation with Crytek, the German developer in a first-party studio. In an interview with the British Official Xbox Magazine, Spencer noticed that Microsoft first talking with Crytek started about eight years ago, and "began to speak, what they 'd means for them to be first party."
At that time, Crytek was dead set on creating the motherboard melting-Sci-Fi Shooter Crysis . Unfortunately, the title would have clashed with Microsoft's then full slate of "militaristic future shooters" (which one, we wonder), so the deal never came to be.
Fast forward a few years developed and Crytek Ryse - An Xbox exclusive - with Spencer say that Crytek has "fall in love with the Kinect" and that the project 'a perfect marriage "between the two companies. So remember, kids, true love does exist!
Spencer: once as Crytek for Microsoft 1st party development originally appeared on Joystiq on Mon, 4th July 2011 13:45:00 EST. Please read our terms for use of feeds.
