Valve responds to layoffs

Gabe Newell says Half-Life developer does not cancel projects or changes in priorities, after no less than 25 have been released.

Valve Gabe Newell co-founder responded to reports of layoffs in the Half-Life and Counter-Strike developer today. In a statement sent to Engadget, Newell stated that the developer is not the cancellation of all ongoing projects or change their priorities.

"We do not usually discuss personnel matters for a number of reasons. Seems to be an unusual amount of speculation about some recent changes here, so I thought I'd take the unusual step to cope, "said Newell.
  • "No, we do not cancel any project. No, we do not change priorities and projects we studied," he added. "No, it is not steam or Linux or hardware or [insert name of the game here.] We will not discuss why particular person or does not work here. "
  • According to reports this afternoon, Valve has taken up to 25 developers in the Android hardware and divisions within the company "big decision" about his future.
