Amazon promises that "thousands" of applications and games available for the Kindle tablet fire when it launches in the U.S. next week. The company has tested the applications in question in the Kindle a fire, which runs on a modified version of the operating system Google Android. Available through its controversial download service Amazon Appstore, the throw line includes games from the likes of EA, PopCap, Gameloft and Zynga.
