Riccitiello: EA seeing "poor returns" on 3D

Speaking at the annual meeting of shareholders yesterday EA CEO John Riccitiello said the publisher had little demand for 3D games. "We have not seen a great success," he said. "We have not seen a great acceptance in the 3D TV at home [is]. We are not here to try to create a market. We are here to respond to what customers want." Instead, Riccitiello believes the next big thing in mobile gaming and social, it is not surprising after the acquisition of PopCap and their intentions for digital business worth one billion dollars a year. "We really see a strong performance in these markets," he said, "and becomes very poor focuses on 3D, so that we allocate our resources to new innovations."
